The Tilston 10k is on public roads that are not restricted or closed so care should be taken at all times and we ask that all runners are respectful of other road users.
You should be aware that although we notify all farmers on the route, it is not unusual to encounter livestock and the remains of their breakfast on the route!
The course starts from Tilston Church Drive which is elevated and off the road, the official start point is as you pass through the gates at the bottom of the drive.
You head out from Tilston towards Shocklach, passing through Horton Green down a gentle incline and over the small bridge heading out into the country.
You will then climb up a long smooth distance of about 600m to your first left turn which is just as you get into the village of Shocklach.
This turn takes you right out into the Cheshire Countryside where you will enjoy the good road surface and small gradients.
After about 2km you will then turn left towards the village of Chorlton, and after 250m left again onto Chorlton Lane, this is just over the 5km point and you are now heading back towards Tilston.
You then come to what is know locally as The Scar where you will again turn left and make your way back to Horton Green joining the road back to Tilston with a Right Turn at the T-Junction.
The route back to the village of Tilston takes you back past the Church and starting point and then up the final incline to the Playing Field where you will find the finish line on the Playing Field.
